Presidential prediction, election '08

I think that former governor of Virginia, John Warner, will run for the Democratic Party, since he had a very succesful term in Virginia.
I think the Republic Party will nominee either George Allen, or McCain, but I think more Allen than McCain, because of hihs age, and because he might be to moderate for the conservative Republicans.

I hope John Warner will run, because I think that probably will make Virginia change to blue, but it's hard to say if his candidate is Allen

Comments on "STU" response

I don't agree with Thomas Cal on everything he says aboout the State of the union speech, but I do with some of them.
I think it is good that Bush wants to do something about the oil problems, and will try to find new methods of fuel, if he is actually going to do it.
I don't agree with Thomas and Bush about keeping the troops, but that's what I expected him to say so I'm not suprised.

Democrats accuse Republicans of using "Doublespeak"

Harry Reid says that years of controlling both the White house and Congress had corrupted the republican Party. He points out that the Republicans have rewarded special interest groups, and everyone else have been left behind.
An example of Reid accuse of using "doublespaek" is:
"When they wanted to let energy companies release more pollution into the air, they called it the 'Clear skies Initiative'"
Also for giving tax breaks to their special interest friends...

If all this is true, I understand why Harry Reid and the democratic Party is upset, because this is not fair.

Illegal immigrants

Bush takes though talk on immigration to Texas

I don't really know what I think about it, but I do understand that they wont let everyone in, and that they wanna do something about the problem.
they kind of have to keep track on who's in yhe country.
But I don't think it should be to strict either, it's hard to say.

Treatment of detainees

I think it's crazy that these things actually happens.
That people are put in jail and basically doesn't have any rights at all..
It's even worse that it happens to innocent people.
Some of the stories I have heard, it seems like torture.
I guess that's why U.S. have their base on Cuba, so it doesn't actually happens in the U.S...?

Thoughts on election 2005

Yes!
I'm so glad that Tim Kaine won the election for governor.
I think he will be a much better governor that Jerry Kilgore would have been.
I agree so much more with Kaine on most of the issues than with Kilgore, and I could never see Kilgore as a governor.. He's just too Republican to me..
That's what I think, and I don't hope I make anyone mad..

Harriet Miers

Harriet Miers is nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court, by the President George W. Bush.
She has no experience as a judge, but have been in the White House since last election.
She has also been Bush's private lawyer, and is close to Bush.
No one really know her opinin on the big issues, so people are afraid of what she stands for.

She is conservative though, but how conservative? Asks the conservative voters, that voted for Bush as a president in 2000 and 2004, when he promised a very conservative candidate.
They wold problably rather have judge, who was cleraly against abortion, for example.
I don't hope that she's very conservative though, I know that she is conservative, but hope that it's as less as possible..
